Mid-Level Backend Developer

Insight Global is seeking a Backend Developer to join one of our clients and support the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise applications. This individual will primarily focus on backend API development, production support, troubleshooting, and implementing small-scale enhancements within existing systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Python, FastAPI, REST API development, and cloud-based technologies.

This role requires someone who is comfortable investigating production issues, optimizing performance, collaborating across technical teams, and contributing within an Agile development environment.

4+ years of professional software development experience

Strong hands-on experience with Python development

Experience building RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks

Strong understanding of API design principles, authentication/authorization, and data validation

Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases

Experience with Git, debugging, automated testing, and application performance optimization

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) Experience developing and deploying applications within Microsoft Azure

Familiarity with Angular, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines

Experience with asynchronous programming or event-driven architectures
