Job description

You will be the Affordability Engineer Senior - Level 3 for the F-35 Affordability Engineering team which is responsible for delivering cost-effective solutions across the F-35 program.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Affordability Engineer Senior - Level 3 you will be responsible for driving cost-reduction initiatives and providing strategic affordability guidance to multiple stakeholders.

“Your responsibilities will include:”

  • Integrate and execute Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI) across Production, Sustainment, and Development business units.
  • Advise cost-category owners and CRI project leads on affordability processes, decision criteria, and funding options.
  • Monitor CRI project budgets and progress, delivering technical guidance to process managers.
  • Act as liaison among engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, suppliers, and program stakeholders.
  • Develop expertise as a Value-Driven Solutions Specialist supporting Aeronautics Engineering & Technology leadership.

Requirements

Your ability to balance technical expertise with strategic thinking makes you an ideal candidate to protect millions of dollars in program spending., MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Interim Secret clearance to start.This position is in Fort Worth, TX Discover Fort Worth.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Engineering experience in the Aerospace Industry.

Desired Skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools emphasizing Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Experience with written, verbal, and presentation communications skills, including briefing to members of upper management.

  • Experience in systems engineering disciplines with understanding of the total lifecycle (architecture, requirements, design, analysis, integration, verification, production and sustainment) including the following key competencies: Supplier Interface, Proposal Analysis, Risk and Opportunity Assessment.

  • Experience working with the change request process.

  • Experience with trade studies.

  • Understanding and strong appreciation for practicing and developing Standard Work processes and tools.

  • Knowledge of overall F-35 air system, design, and processes.

  • Knowledge of F-35 development, production operations, and sustainment.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or experience.

  • Knowledge of Subcontract Management process (TINA, FAR, proposal, PCA, negotiations, FFP, LTA, MRC, etc.)

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
