Job description

The team performs system integration and validation for remote control, semi-autonomous, and autonomous machines - building test benches, executing testing, and developing automation and simulation frameworks. The team’s mission is to deliver the highest quality collision mitigation solutions to customers on time and within budget, supporting a safety-critical product recognized as a best-in-class solution in the mining industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Decompose system requirements and translate them into system design and documentation
  • Perform machine installs of systems for testing and validation
  • Collect and analyze data from test activities
  • Execute verification and validation testing
  • Conduct root cause analysis on system issues
  • Build test benches and develop automation and simulation tools for testing

Team & Work Environment

  • Part of a 30-40 person global engineering team
  • Frequent communication with the development team and system leads across global locations
  • 100% onsite role based in Mossville, IL
  • Travel to proving grounds required for on-machine testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, plus 2-5 years of relevant experience required
  • Master’s degree accepted as well, * Strong networking and systems design
  • Ability to independently plan and execute test activities
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and oral and written communication skills
  • CAN tools and Linux OS
  • Camera, radar, and LiDAR calibration and validation
  • Python scripting and test automation

Desired / Nice to Have Skills:

  • Machine operation experience
  • Background in robotics or autonomy
