Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in Java (Spring) and comfort reviewing/contributing to backend service code
  • Direct experience building or operating a double-entry ledger or core accounting/financial system - journals, debits/credits, chart of accounts, balance derivation, reversals
  • Track record with correctness-critical, high-throughput transactional systems: idempotency design, concurrency control (optimistic locking / conditional writes), and balance-integrity guarantees under concurrent writes
  • Experience partnering closely with team members - revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, GL mapping, reconciliation, and ERP integration (e.g., Oracle)
  • Strong grasp of databases at scale and familiarity with NoSQL data modeling (e.g., DynamoDB) for future migration paths
  • Experience designing event-driven systems that translate business events into balanced, auditable postings, with simulation/dry-run tooling for onboarding new event types
  • Comfort operating in a regulated, audit-sensitive environment - immutable/append-only records, traceability requirements, safeguarding or similar compliance obligations
  • Bonus: familiarity with crypto custody and multi-network asset movement (wallets, blockchain networks, exchanges) given the ledger’s (asset, network) balancing model
  • Proven track record of defining and owning a technical roadmap across multiple product verticals. This includes onboarding additional service areas onto a shared platform rather than focusing on a single product surface.
  • Bias toward action, sound judgment under ambiguity, and success recruiting and growing strong engineers
