Job description

Hilltop Holdings is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer Associate who will be responsible for analyzing user requirements, developing BI reporting solutions, documenting technical design, and supporting existing BI systems as assigned. This role will work closely with end users to fulfill specific reporting requests as required including support for compliance, audit, and ad hoc reporting by transforming data into meaningful output and insights. An ideal candidate understands BI technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop Dashboards utilizing modern data visualization tools such as Power BI (preferred), Tableau, Qlik or similar tools.   • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards for end users.
  • Define, develop, and maintain DAX tabular cubes necessary for reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs.
  • Fulfill business requests for specific reports utilizing data in reporting marts or other sources.
  • Work with data architects and technical peers to design solutions for the Microsoft SQL platform.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reports and dashboards.
  • Working with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSRS, Power BI)
  • Administer Power BI users with appropriate permissions.
  • Maintain standards for delivery, quality, and visual presentation of delivered BI solutions.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience working with databases, reporting, analytics, or similar technologies.
  • Use of Power BI, SQL or equivalent programming languages
  • Ability to analyze data and discover patterns and anomalies useful for analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) formula language
  • Prior experience with SQL and development of enterprise level reports.
  • Strong SQL and data integration (Python) skills
  • Strong analytical ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Fundamental understanding of data warehousing and data marts
  • Development and deployment of Power BI content packs and applications
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments.
  • Strong understanding of data models

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
