IT Storage Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, implement, and operate storage infrastructure to support mission-critical workloads such as simulation and telemetry. You will work with enterprise storage platforms to enable high-performance, low-latency data handling across multiple tiers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align storage with system architecture. You will tackle performance, capacity, and disaster-recovery challenges in an on-premises environment, driving automation and standardization. This is a chance to scale storage for exabyte-scale workloads in a mission-driven company shaping the future of space exploration. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and maintain multi-tier storage infrastructure (high-performance, capacity, archive, backup/recovery, DR) * Architect and operate high-throughput, low-latency storage and exabyte-scale file systems for simulation and telemetry * Administer NetApp, Pure FlashArray/FlashBlade, Vast, and HPE Alletra storage * Monitor and troubleshoot performance across hardware, transport (RDMA), and protocol layers * Troubleshoot complex issues across protocols and operating systems * Manage storage access, permissions, and access controls across protocols and OS * Develop automation/tools for monitoring, capacity planning, configuration management, and alerting * Define and enforce standards for deployment, performance tuning, and operations * Collaborate with compute, networking, and application teams to align storage with workload requirements * Participate in maintenance, on-call, and occasional hardware installation Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline; or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree * Experience with enterprise storage platforms: NetApp, Pure Storage, Vast, HPE Alletra * Strong understanding of storage protocols: NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, NVMe over TCP Key requirements * Medical, vision and dental coverage * 401(k) retirement plan * Stock options or long-term incentives * Paid parental leave * Paid vacation (3 weeks) * 10+ paid holidays per year
