Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Estimator to join our preconstruction team in St. Louis. This role is critical in navigating the complex cost landscapes of modern digital infrastructure. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for both ā€œstandardā€ and ā€œmajorā€ data center projects, with a specific focus on the unique power, cooling, and regulatory requirements currently impacting markets through the country., * Cost Estimating - Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of materials (BOMs), labor projections, and pricing for data center construction and structured cabling systems.

  • Blueprint Interpretation - Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine project requirements and identify inconsistencies.
  • Quantity Takeoffs - Perform takeoffs for structual, containment and mechanical systems.
  • Vendor & Bid Coordination - Solicit vendor quotes, compare bids, and support RFP responses and proposal development.
  • Cost Data Management - Maintain historical cost data, unit pricing, and rate databases.
  • Change Order Analysis - Validate scope changes and assess cost impacts.
  • Site Visits - Participate in pre-bid meetings and site investigations to gather technical details.
  • Risk Identification - Identify project risks and scope deviations, especially in hyperscale environments.
  • Value Engineering - Support cost-saving evaluations without compromising performance (common in senior roles).

Requirements

Do you have experience in Working on construction estimation projects?, * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of estimating experience, specifically within mission-critical or industrial construction.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Plan Grid and Structural Steel construction.
