Job description
- Providing pre-sales support and preparing quotations for partners via phone and email, covering both Microsoft cloud services and on-premises software.
- Understanding partner requirements and licensing queries to recommend the most appropriate products and licensing solutions. You’ll be able to explain complex licensing concepts in a clear, simple and easy-to-understand way.
- Managing a busy workload, handling an average of 100+ emails each day and spending up to three hours on the phone supporting partners. A professional, friendly and confident telephone manner is essential.
- Delivering a fast, efficient and high-quality service to develop and maintain strong partner relationships.
- Participating in end-user conference calls, including advising customers on transitioning existing licensing agreements to cloud services.
- Advising on the most suitable Microsoft licensing programmes, including CSP, Perpetual CSP, NCE, Open Value, Open Value Subscription (OVS), OVS-ES and SPLA.
- Supporting the management and ongoing maintenance of more than 10,000 legacy Microsoft Volume Licensing agreements.
- Processing orders where required to support the sales process.
- Committing to continuous professional development, including achieving Microsoft certifications such as MS-900.
- Keeping your knowledge current across Microsoft licensing programmes, products and software agreements.
- Identifying and analysing new licensing opportunities to support partner growth.
- Working closely with the Operations team to resolve queries and ensure a seamless customer journey from quotation through to order completion.
- Supporting the continued growth of the business, with opportunities to expand your knowledge into additional cloud software vendors beyond Microsoft.
- Reporting directly to the Head of Product.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:
- An understanding of Microsoft licensing or software licensing in general would be advantageous.
- Previous sales or customer-facing experience, with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with partners and customers by phone, email and in person.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- The ability to work independently, managing your own workload and priorities effectively.
- A willingness to continuously learn and adapt as Microsoft products, licensing programmes and technologies evolve.
- The ability to simplify complex licensing concepts, explaining them clearly and confidently to partners and customers with varying levels of technical knowledge.

The Job Role
This is a varied and responsive role where you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of our Westcoast partners’ Microsoft software requirements and recommend the most appropriate Microsoft licensing agreements and solutions to meet their needs. You’ll play a key part in helping partners navigate Microsoft’s licensing programmes, using your product knowledge and attention to detail to deliver the right solution for every customer.
