Job description
Bambee is looking for a Technical Diligence Lead to take a close, honest look at our existing systems - architecture, security, and vendor relationships - and make sure they hold up under scrutiny. Youâll work in close partnership with our VP of Engineering and senior leadership, setting standards and priorities for what gets fixed and in what order. This is a senior, high-visibility role: youâll carry real authority over technical risk decisions company-wide, without formally managing the engineering team day to day.
Responsibilities
- Audit Bambeeâs existing architecture, codebase, and infrastructure for technical risk
- Set standards and remediation priorities for technical risk across the organization, in partnership with the VP of Engineering
- Review our security posture and identify gaps that wouldnât hold up under external scrutiny
- Evaluate our vendor and third-party integrations for risk exposure
- Produce clear, prioritized findings - written for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Advise senior leadership directly on technical risk and readiness
- Assess our data infrastructure for how it could support future products
Requirements
- 8+ years in software engineering, including experience operating at a senior or staff level with real technical authority
- A track record of shaping technical direction and standards without necessarily managing a team
- Experience conducting audits, security reviews, or technical assessments of existing systems
- Strong written communication and comfort advising executives directly
- Experience with M&A technical diligence, compliance audits (SOC 2, etc.), or similar evaluative work is a plus, * Have you operated in a senior or staff-level engineering role with real authority over architecture or technical direction, without necessarily managing a team?
- Do you have experience conducting audits, security reviews, or technical assessments of existing systems?
- Do you have experience with M&A technical due diligence, security audits, or compliance reviews (e.g., SOC 2)?
- Are you comfortable operating in a senior role with real authority but no formal management responsibility over a team?
- Describe a time you audited or assessed an unfamiliar system (codebase, architecture, or vendor stack) and identified a risk others had missed. What did you find, and what happened next?
Experience:
- Software engineering: 8 years (Required)
