Senior Java Backend Developer

As a Senior Java Backend Developer , you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications using modern Java technologies, cloud-native architectures, and AWS services. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions., * Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

• Build and support cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, EFS, ALB, and NAT Gateway.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and web services to support enterprise-scale applications.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and release processes.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Partner directly with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices-based architecture.
• Experience designing and developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Knowledge of core AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, ALB, NAT Gateway, and EFS.
• Experience integrating applications with RESTful web services and APIs.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and software delivery best practices.
• Strong understanding of database technologies and data management concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with clients and stakeholders.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience provisioning and managing AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Knowledge of React and modern front-end development concepts.
• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and cross-functional teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization skills.

The annual salary for this position is between $69,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
