Review data governance and control frameworks.
Assess data quality, lineage, privacy, and records management.
Review data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation controls.
Investigate schemas, databases, and data flows.
Assess data movement into downstream reporting and credit-modelling systems.
Identify key risks, control gaps, and remediation priorities.
Produce a clear findings and recommendations pack.
Support a mortgage provider with an 8-week discovery engagement.
Assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems., We are supporting a mortgage provider on an 8-week discovery engagement for an experienced Data Governance & Controls Consultant. We will assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems, identify gaps and risks, and produce a prioritised remediation plan. There may be a follow-on implementation phase subject to client approval.

Strong data governance and data controls experience.
At least 3-4 similar discovery or review engagements.
Hands-on experience with data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and control design.
Financial services experience.
Ability to work across business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
Strong stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
Mortgage, lending, or credit experience is desirable.
Experience with legacy or Microsoft-based environments is desirable.
Experience shaping remediation roadmaps is desirable.
