Data Engineer SME

We are seeking a Data Engineer SME to provide strategic leadership and architectural direction for FEMA-wide data engineering initiatives, including enterprise data lakes, AI/ML pipelines, and modernization of data infrastructure., * Lead enterprise data architecture strategy.

• Oversee cloud-native data platform design and governance.
• Provide guidance on high-scale ingestion, streaming, and orchestration.
• Support enterprise data governance councils and cross-agency initiatives.
• Advise leadership on emerging technologies and modernization.

• At least 10 years of experience in a related role.
• Expert-level data engineering and cloud data architecture.
• Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks for federal data.
• Ability to influence enterprise-level decision-making.

Education and Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications.

Clearance Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust. Active Public Trust is preferred. FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred.
