The Front End Application Developer II is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and intuitive web based applications that enable our operational productivity both in our Stores and Central Store Support office. This position is located in-office 5 days a week (Rockville, MD).

  • Design and develop software solutions to agreed requirements using a range of languages and technologies, primarily REACT using TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Provide accurate reporting, develop tools, solutions and systems that host and support them.
  • Create and maintain tools that improve productivity for internal departments and Stores.
  • Create and maintain user documentation for MOM’s business application/tools.
  • Provide technical assistance/advice for troubleshooting on software related to Inventory management, Point of Sale (POS), scales and other back office systems.
  • Maintain and follow coding best practices.
  • Analyze application related issues to identify and plan improvements.
  • Review applications and their dependencies to address security concerns.
  • Evaluate projects and propose changes based on end user experience and feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in related field or equivalent experience and education
  • Previous experience in application/software development coding (specifically Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Standard SQL)
  • Intermediate level math skills (Algebra to Precalculus)
  • Advanced experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Mac OS and Windows OS
  • Previous experience in Grocery Retail
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially with communication (written and verbal) and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks that change frequently and manage unexpected demands
  • Dependable, follows instructions and takes initiative to solve problems
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • Interest in company culture and desire to grow in the field

Nice to haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with working with service orientation concepts and enabling technologies
  • Coding or Data Analytics related certifications
