Junior API Developer

We are looking for a Junior API & Integration Engineer to join our team on a remote contract opportunity with potential for long-term employment.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career software or integration professional who understands APIs and REST services and wants to continue developing their technical skills.

You do not need to be a senior engineer. We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, coachable, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned work while working with experienced team members.

What You Will Do

• Build, maintain, and support API integrations and interfaces.
• Work with REST APIs, endpoints, requests, responses, and JSON data.
• Help connect applications and systems through APIs and integrations.
• Assist with data handling, troubleshooting, and basic data analysis.
• Investigate technical issues and help identify practical solutions.
• Research unfamiliar technologies and learn new tools when needed.
• Complete assigned technical tasks with guidance from senior team members.
• Communicate progress, questions, and issues clearly with the team.
• Work independently while also collaborating with other developers and technical team members.
• Continue learning and take on more technical responsibilities over time.

Candidates should have:

• 1-4 years of experience in software development, application development, API integration, interfaces, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience building or consuming REST APIs.
• Good understanding of:
• REST APIs
• API endpoints
• HTTP methods such as GET, POST, PUT, DELETE
• Requests and responses
• JSON
• Basic API authentication
• Some experience with system integrations, interfaces, or data handling.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and research technical issues independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to receive mentorship and feedback.
• Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and complete them reliably.

Nice to Have

Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

• Python
• Java

$25 - $32 an hour - Contract
