Job description

  • Meaningful Work: Contribute to the Data & Analytics Engineering track by helping design, build, and optimize data pipelines, platforms, and analytical tools. You’ll gain hands-on experience turning raw data into insights that support data-driven decisions across The Cigna Group.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have participated in and completed a Cigna Group internship prior to applying for this position.

  • Education: Must have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field at the time of hire.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing concepts

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala

  • Experience with SQL for database querying and management

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)

  • Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus

  • Awareness of data governance, data quality, and data integrity principles

  • Courses & Experiences: Academic coursework, internships, or projects focused on data engineering, analytics, or large-scale data systems.

  • Well Rounded: Leadership or involvement in clubs, organizations, hackathons, technical competitions, or research projects.

Benefits & conditions

  • Compensation: Expected base salary is $88,000 for bachelor’s graduates and $100,000 for master’s graduates, plus competitive benefits.

  • Pre-Employment Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program start date. Completion of the drug test requires availability within the United States during this timeframe.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 72,400 - 120,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
