Job description

To provide the analytical insight that underpins our clients’ asset replacement and capital expenditure programmes Combining strong data skills with practical engineering and facilities management knowledge, the Data & Analytics Analyst will investigate maintenance activity across the estate to identify trends, patterns, and areas of high spend; establish root cause for outlying assets, sites, and disciplines; and quantify the associated costs to produce clear, actionable recommendations for the client

The role is investigative by nature: interrogating asset- and estate-level data to surface cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities and translating findings into evidence that supports investment decisions The post holder will also manage relationships with senior client stakeholders, presenting analysis and recommendations with credibility and clarity Principal Accountabilities:

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the Data Insights team
  • Apply technical facilities management and engineering knowledge to investigate current maintenance provisions from all angles, identifying cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities and recommending specification changes or enhancements
  • Work with discipline subject matter experts and other internal stakeholders to strengthen the evidence base for capital replacement submissions
  • Use business intelligence tools to identify and investigate root causes of spend and performance outliers by asset type, across both City internal resource and contractor delivery
  • Advise on and support the client’s asset specifications, providing analysis to inform purchasing decisions
  • Deliver across a broad range of outputs, from building Power BI dashboards from scratch to maintaining Excel-based tools and producing reports and summaries in PowerPoint and Word for internal and external audiences
  • Apply appropriate data visualisation techniques to develop business intelligence tools, such as interactive dashboards, that give colleagues accurate, timely, and actionable insight into repairs and maintenance services and demand
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop and enhance BI and life cycle costing (LCC) analysis and reporting tools
  • Use the corporate Life Cycle Costing model to inform investment priorities for asset replacement programmes
  • Represent the company professionally at all times and build effective working relationships with key City and client colleagues
  • Undertake training as required and keep personal skills current with technical developments
  • Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times
  • Work with City and client colleagues to ensure agreed standards of quality are maintained at all times
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Line Manager

Key Result Areas:

  • Deliver data-led cost savings through the interrogation and modelling of client data
  • Deliver robust, evidential data to support annual business plan submissions
  • Deliver analysis and recommendations that improve asset availability and reduce maintenance costs

Requirements
