Job description

A major focus of your role will be to integrate, adapt, train and deploy state-of-the-art deep learning models for machine vision on hyperspectral data. You will work on real-world segmentation, classification and regression problems, develop suitable datasets and turn experimental approaches into robust solutions for our customers.

At the same time, you will actively explore and use AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate software development, data analysis, experimentation and deployment. You will help us identify where modern AI tools, coding agents and automated workflows can improve development processes and contribute to making these capabilities accessible and reusable within the team, as well as for our customers.

Working on specific problems that real customers are facing right now will help us showcase the powerful combination of hyperspectral snapshot cameras, machine learning and modern AI workflows. Your solutions will contribute to our software ecosystem, including our publicly available framework cuvis.ai, and will be used by customers from research, defense, medical and industry around the world.

What you will do

  • Create, adapt, train and deploy state-of-the-art deep neural networks for machine vision to tackle complex real-world customer problems such as segmentation, classification and regression on hyperspectral data.
  • Define, acquire and create datasets for machine learning applications, including data preprocessing, annotation strategies, augmentation and evaluation.
  • Contribute to the architecture and continuous development of our deep learning framework cuvis.ai, bringing new models, workflows and capabilities from prototype to production.
  • Develop and use AI-assisted workflows for software development, data analysis, experimentation, model development and other engineering tasks.
  • Define and create strategies for real-world deployment of machine learning solutions at customer sites and within customer applications.
  • Design and carry out feasibility studies involving deep learning, hyperspectral imaging and AI-assisted approaches.
  • Work closely with software engineers, application engineers and domain experts to turn customer requirements and experimental results into robust technical solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the rapidly evolving fields of machine learning and AI tooling, evaluate relevant developments and transfer promising approaches into practical use.
  • Help us communicate the benefits of Deep Learning, Hyperspectral Imaging and modern AI technologies by attending conferences, giving technical presentations and contributing to scientific publications.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Machine Learning techniques and algorithms for machine vision applications
  • Hands-on experience in developing and deploying machine learning models from early stage to production
  • Prior experience in real-world machine learning projects, from data preprocessing to model evaluation
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with relevant libraries (e.g. PyTorch, OpenCV)
  • Experience building internal developer tools, automation or AI-assisted engineering workflows
  • Ability and motivation to continuously evaluate new AI technologies and translate them into practical engineering solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for our mission and excitement about revolutionizing our industry with AI
