Job description

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Phoenix area seeking an experienced Tyler Munis ERP Consultant to support the administration, optimization, and enhancement of the Tyler Munis Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position will work closely with finance, human resources, payroll, procurement, and operational stakeholders to ensure the Munis platform is effectively supporting business objectives and organizational processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant who has deep expertise within the Tyler Technologies ecosystem and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, reporting, system functionality, and user adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the Tyler Munis ERP platform.

  • Lead system configuration, optimization, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives.

  • Analyze business processes and recommend improvements leveraging Munis functionality and best practices.

  • Support and maintain Munis modules, including:

  • Financial Management

  • General Ledger

  • Accounts Payable

  • Purchasing and Procurement

  • Budgeting

  • Human Resources

  • Payroll

  • Employee Self-Service (ESS)

  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.

  • Configure workflows, security roles, permissions, and system settings.

  • Develop reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support operational and executive decision-making.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution efforts with internal teams and Tyler Technologies support.

  • Assist with data conversions, integrations, and system implementations.

  • Create documentation, training materials, and user guides.

  • Conduct end-user training and provide ongoing support.

  • Participate in testing activities for upgrades, patches, and new functionality.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting or implementing Tyler Munis ERP.

  • Strong understanding of ERP business processes within finance, accounting, HR, payroll, procurement, or budgeting functions.

  • Experience with Munis system configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into system solutions.

  • Experience creating reports using Munis reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting software upgrades, implementations, or optimization projects.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in local government, municipality, public sector, education, utilities, or nonprofit environments.

  • Tyler Technologies certifications or formal Munis training.

  • Experience with Munis integrations, API connectivity, and third-party applications.

  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

  • Experience with data migration and conversion projects.
