Job description
The Public Affairs Office plans and executes the command’s public affairs programs, keeping the force and public informed through media engagement, community outreach, and internal information. In this role, you’ll help maintain the command’s digital presence., * Design, develop, and maintain public-facing and internal websites and digital content platforms.
- Coordinate with PAO staff to publish command news, media products, and internal information content.
- Ensure web content complies with applicable public affairs, accessibility, and security guidelines.
- Support digital analytics tracking and reporting on web/content engagement.
- Troubleshoot and maintain web platform functionality and security.
Requirements
- Prior experience in web development/content management, ideally supporting a military, government, or public affairs organization.
- Proficiency with common web development platforms/CMS tools and basic front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript or equivalent).
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards and public affairs release procedures a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under command-level review/approval processes.
- May be required to obtain a DoD-approved information assurance certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) after hire, given this role’s access to Government information systems - confirm current requirement before extending an offer.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Must be able to complete a favorable background investigation appropriate to the position within the first week of starting, and obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) within the first two weeks.
- Must complete required security, anti-terrorism, and information assurance training within the first 30 days, and annually thereafter.
- If the position requires a security clearance, must complete annual threat-awareness and operations-security refresher training.
- Professional appearance and conduct consistent with a military headquarters environment.
