Job description

AirQuest Environmental is hiring a part-time IT Support and Security Compliance Assistant. AirQuest Environmental, Inc. is a woman-owned Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Consulting Firm that offers professional services for both public and private sector clients at sites located throughout the United States.

You’ll work under our IT Director keeping the company running day to day with helpdesk requests, laptops, user accounts, dashboards, and inventory. You will be tasked with keeping up with compliance within our cybersecurity program covering the IT department. Duties will also include a calendar of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks. You will also be documenting IT software and hardware checks, exporting the reports, saving the results, and meeting with the IT Director on what has been found. This is an entry level position with possibility of future growth.

Hours and Location

  • Part-time, 20 to 24 hours a week.
  • On-site only, at our Davie office.
  • Pay is $23 an hour.

What You’ll Do

User support and equipment

  • Front-line helpdesk: account lockouts, password resets, printer and Wi-Fi problems, application troubleshooting, basic phone and tablet help. Log every request in the ticketing system and keep a running incident log.
  • Manage Windows laptops, following the documented procedures or creating new ones.
  • Work on accounts, licenses, group memberships, training, equipment handoff and recovery.
  • Track equipment inventory and stock levels. Keep the IT hardware area organized and labeled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Cybersecurity support & compliance

  • Check on Microsoft Intune device compliance, Microsoft Entra sign-in logs including risky sign-in flags, BitDefender GravityZone alerts, the PreVeil admin queue, open tickets, and device health.
  • Update software and hardware for multiple systems at the direction of the IT Director.
  • Export and review compliance reports, Windows update reports, Intune Remote Help session logs, BitDefender threat reports, PreVeil audit logs, patch status, and antivirus events. Save dated evidence to the archive.
  • Asset inventory checks, group membership checks, Microsoft 365 license and warranty reconciliation, laptop firmware review.
  • Vulnerability assessment runs, audit log retention verification, Acceptable Use Policy acknowledgment tracking, and incident response logging.
  • Coordinate employee cybersecurity awareness training; collect policy re-acknowledgments; follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Evidence, documentation, and awareness

  • Maintain the dated, named evidence archive against our operations calendar. Keep ticket notes and change logs organized.
  • Run phishing tests on staff, track the results, and send out a short weekly IT security tip.

Requirements

  • Know your way around Windows 11, Microsoft 365 basics: user accounts, licenses, Outlook and Exchange.
  • Great at clear writing for evidence summaries and ticket notes, and you can explain technical things to people who aren’t technical.
  • Prior Windows desktop support experience.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+, or similar recommended but not required.

Required:

  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable way to get to our Davie office.
  • Degree or seeking a degree in IT-related fields such as Information technology, Cybersecurity, or any IT-related degree.
  • Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
