Sr Finance Business Analyst ERP - Contract-To-Hire; 3-DAYS/WK ONSITE REQUIRE

The Senior Finance Business Analyst ERP plays a critical, full-time role in our Financial ERP replacement program. This role is the main connection point between Finance, IT, and external consulting and implementation partners.The analyst will help keep these groups aligned through each stage of the program, including organization readiness, system selection, solution design, system build, implementation, and the development of a post-implementation support model.

This role will help make the ERP transformation successful by turning business needs into clear, usable requirements. The analyst will document current-state finance processes, define future-state requirements, and support development of the RFP for selecting the ERP software vendor and implementation partner. After the ERP system and implementation partners are selected, the analyst will continue as a key business-facing member of the implementation team. The analyst will help translate approved requirements into solution design decisions, support fit-gap analysis, clarify process and data needs, and work with Finance, IT, and the implementation partner to confirm what will be configured, integrated tested, and delivered. The analyst will also support integration planning, data migration validation, user acceptance testing, defect review, training readiness, go-live preparation, and the transition to a practical post-implementation support model. Throughout these activities, the analyst will help ensure that the delivered system meets our business requirements, supports future-state finance processes, and is ready for sustainable ongoing use.

Duties

ERP Readiness and RFP Development

• Document current-state financial processes, systems, and workflows across the organization.
• Correlate business processes with existing policies, procedures, and controls.
• Identify pain points, gaps, and inefficiencies in the current environment.
• Define and document future-state business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Develop detailed requirements documentation to support ERP RFP.
• Create process flows, user journeys, and user stories aligned with business requirements.

Business Analysis and Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct workshops with business leaders, system owners, and end users to define requirements and system goals.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Finance, IT, and external partners
• Ensure requirements are clearly documented, validated, and communicated across stakeholders.
• Define and document acceptance criteria for all requirements.

Solution Design and Fit-Gap Analysis

• Lead fit-gap analysis to evaluate ERP solution capabilities against requirements.
• Support future-state solution design ensuring interoperability, integration, and scalability.
• Drive design decisions in collaboration with Finance, IT, and implementation partners.
• Maintain and manage solution design documentation.

Integration and Data Design

• Support development and governance of the financial data model.
• Ensure alignment of financial processes with cross-functional systems (CRM, HRIS, etc.).
• Coordinate integration requirements with internal teams and external vendors.

Delivery Assurance and Testing

• Support system testing to ensure solutions meet defined acceptance criteria.
• Validate that implemented functionality aligns with documented requirements.
• Identify and resolve issues across business and system processes.

Program Support and Continuous Improvement

• Support development of product team capabilities and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to key program deliverables across ERP selection, implementation and operations (post deployment) phases.
• Identify, track, and escalate risks and issues to the project manager.
• Support readiness and change management activities to ensure successful transition to the new ERP system.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of experience as a Finance Business Analyst or Functional Consultant in Finance/ERP environments.
• Proven experience supporting ERP selection, implementation and post implementation support (e.g., MS Dynamics, Costpoint, NetSuite, Infor etc.).
• Strong understanding of finance processes (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Employee Expense, Procurement, Treasury, Budgeting, Grants, Multi-entity, Multicurrency).
