Job description
You’ll work as part of a collaborative engineering team developing software solutions for a range of internal and external projects. The role offers variety, technical development and the opportunity to work across different projects and technology areas.
You’ll be responsible for
Developing and coding software solutions.
Working within Agile teams and taking an active role in sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives.
Writing technical and design documentation.
Working within DevOps environments and associated tooling.
Investigating and resolving complex customer issues, including third-line support.
Translating customer and technical requirements into practical solutions.
Supporting project planning, estimation and technical delivery.
Researching new technologies and improving engineering practices.
Providing technical input to wider business functions.
Mentoring and supporting colleagues within the engineering team.
Requirements
We are seeking a Software Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ commercial/civilian software engineering experience to join an established technology team
This role could be particularly attractive to ex-military technical professionals who have already made the transition into commercial industry, but it is not suitable for a Service Leaver whose experience is solely military., Strong commercial software engineering experience.
Minimum 3 years’ civilian/commercial experience as a Software Engineer.

R&D project experience
Experience working within secure or Defence environments.
You’ll be comfortable working in an Agile environment, communicating directly with customers and translating requirements into effective technical solutions.
A degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
Existing SC clearance is highly desirable.
You must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain SC clearance where required.
This is an opportunity to work on varied, technically interesting projects within a specialist Defence and secure technology environment, while continuing to develop your engineering skills.
The role provides exposure to different projects, technologies and revenue streams, with genuine scope to broaden your technical experience and take on increasing responsibility.
