Job description

Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, oversees the information technology and communication systems of the BlueWater Resort & Casino. Provides installation, services and support for network, Internet, switchboard, telephone, computer and software to all departments within the BlueWater Resort & Casino., * Procurement of such hardware, software, and supplies necessary for the functioning of BlueWater Resort & Casino personal computers in coordination with the relevant Department Directors and Chief Financial Officer.

  • Maintenance of the Local Area Networks (LAN) in coordination with the BlueWater Resort & Casino Chief Financial Officer.
  • Maintenance of the Casino gaming system infrastructure, exclusive of the propriety hardware and software, in coordination with the Slot Technician Manager, Sodak, IGT, and any other gaming manufacturers.
  • Maintenance of the BlueWater Resort & Casino’s communication systems. Develops and coordinates training programs for personnel related to computer system.
  • Assists in the planning and installation of computer systems. Serves as coordinator with vendors on all data processing systems in the hotel.
  • Acts as an “Operation Analyst” to recommend changes or additions to operating procedures to maximize system utilization and performance. Reviews internal control procedures related to computer systems and makes recommendation to ensure that higher standards are attained.
  • Analyzes all system failures, restores the system to the usual state of operation and makes every effort to minimize system down time.
  • Ensures twenty-four (24)-hour seven (7)-day coverage for emergency calls.
  • Prepares monthly systems performance report. Establishes and maintains a preventive maintenance schedule in accordance with maintenance contracts and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures that proper procedures and controls are in place for security and integrity of the computer system.
  • Ensures that the computer room, disk packs, and other computer material are secured. Maintains a computer system performance logbook to document software, hardware, and other miscellaneous system failures.
  • Ensures that a library is maintained containing computer related material such as operating manuals, training manuals, and maintenance contracts.

  • Works in safe manner, sets security access levels to computer systems for all employees.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, shifts, or days as determined by business demands.
  • Maintain compliance and always adhere with all applicable laws, gaming regulations, internal controls, Employee Handbook, and policies and procedures.
  • Complies with BlueWater Resort & Casino rules and regulations and ensures that all employees are in compliance, and complies with Federal, State and Tribal laws.
  • Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • All other duties as assigned and / or directed (maintaining segregation of duties).

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment., * Bachelor degree in computer science or information systems preferred. Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Ten (10) years’ related work experience in a casino I.T. environment. Four (4) years’ experience directing information systems and technology. Two (2) years working within a Supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in I.T. infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management and policy development.
  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and gaming systems.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day-to-day management.
  • Knowledge of business processes, management and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply I.T. in solving business problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable gaming laws and regulations as they relate to Arizona or similar jurisdictions.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended length of time, eight to ten hours per day.

  • Tolerance and ability to cope with stress and a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in an office setting, operate telephone devices, and a computer.
