Experteer Overview In this role you lead external lighting design work, ensuring build-ready, compliant packages are delivered on schedule to support reliable construction outcomes. You act as the quality gate for design releases and coordinate across design firms, contracting, and field learnings to minimize rework. You provide technical guidance to contract designers and manage capacity, quality, and schedule risks. You partner with the Design Oversight Manager to resolve standards interpretations and escalate issues when needed. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering safe, efficient distribution lighting projects. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as the primary owner of lighting design work performed by external contract designers * Define scope, assumptions, and deliverables for contracted lighting design packages * Coordinate with sourcing, project delivery, and work management to align output with construction needs * Review and approve contractor design packages to ensure standards and customer requirements are met * Act as a quality gate prior to design release to reduce RFIs, change orders, and field rework * Incorporate field feedback and as-built learnings into guidance and future work packages * Monitor contractor performance against cycle time, quality, and backlog targets * Balance work allocation across contract design firms to meet demand and delivery commitments * Escalate capacity constraints, quality issues, or schedule risks to the Design Oversight Manager * Provide day-to-day technical clarification to contract designers and approve technical design within thresholds * Serve as first escalation point for contractor questions and minor design corrections * Partner with the Chief Engineer and Design Manager to resolve standards interpretation or exception requests Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience * 2-3 years of experience in the utility industry or relevant work experience * Demonstrated exceptional leadership ability * Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills * Experience managing/executing capital and/or O&M projects * Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects * Knowledge of utility electric system design and operations * Knowledge of budgets, financial procedures, and property accounting * Ability to communicate technical topics to less technical stakeholders and influence others * Intermediate to advanced proficiency in analytical tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project Key requirements *
