Job description

We are seeking a senior, highly technical Palantir Foundry Software & Data Engineer to provide ongoing operational support, architecture governance, and application development for our mission-critical Grid Resiliency portfolio.

In this role, you will build, optimize, and maintain applications and data pipelines within Palantir Foundry. You will manage modular code development, govern data ontologies, monitor resource consumption, and ensure end-to-end business functionality for complex, regulated operational workflows under tight support timelines., * Software & Pipeline Development: Write high-quality, modular code within Foundry’s Code Repositories and Function repositories. Build and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL processes, and reusable transformation logic using Python and TypeScript.

  • Ontology & Architecture Governance: Oversee ontology design, access control, and change processes. Provide architectural guidance for pipeline and DAG execution while aligning with enterprise standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Application Maintenance & Operations: Deliver agile application maintenance services-including major enhancements, routine break/fix support, patch releases, and root cause analysis for live production issues.
  • Resource & Cost Optimization: Leverage Foundry’s Resource Management applications to analyze compute consumption, execution costs, and storage utilization, providing actionable optimization strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure service providers, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders to maintain seamless application access, data flow integrity, and compliance across enterprise support models.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline (or equivalent experience) accompanied by 7 to 10 years of professional software engineering and data platform experience.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong full-stack fundamentals with deep experience in data engineering and application design.
  • Proficiency in Python (including PySpark or Polars) and TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of data pipeline architecture, data lineage, and impact analysis.
  • Palantir Ecosystem Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry components (Code Repositories, Pipeline Builder, Data Connection, Workshop, and Quiver).
  • Operational Resilience: Comfortable making high-stakes decisions under time pressure, navigating ambiguous live production environments, and participating in on-call rotations for off-hours support.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Advanced experience with Ontology design and object-based data modeling.
  • Proven background in utility, energy, or similarly regulated industrial environments.
  • Experience translating complex business logic into scalable data pipeline implementations.
