Job description

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer - AWS to join our team in Lowell, MA. The Software Development Engineer - AWS will be responsible for developing software on our AWS - powered cloud platform for processing and managing emergency communications generated by Kingfisher wide-area IP based alarm event transmitting and receiving equipment. You will also be developing and maintaining a suite of performance and programming apps in both iOS and Android environments., · Define and support the design and development of AWS Cloud-based applications for intelligent emergency reporting systems and devices

· Implement and adhere to software development methodologies

· Implement and maintain software versioning and revision control

· Analyze trade-offs in the system design to meet requirements.

· Own & drive the execution end to end while maintaining schedule compliance

· Keep abreast of industry changes in software engineering technologies, processes, and disciplines

· Translate design specifications in system designs and implementation, participate in design and code reviews

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
  • AWS Lambda
  • DynamoDB
  • CloudWatch
  • AWS IoT Core
  • API Gateway, S3 (preferred)
  • Experience building and maintaining serverless and event-driven architectures
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js
  • Solid working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting production AWS environments
  • Familiarity with IAM, security best practices, and least-privilege access
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting cloud applications
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills

  • Experience with mobile application backends supporting iOS and Android clients
  • Familiarity with iOS app development (Swift, Xcode) or Android app development (Kotlin/Java, Android Studio)
  • Experience integrating mobile apps with AWS services (API Gateway, Cognito, IoT, AppSync, etc.)
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform)
  • Exposure to real-time messaging, MQTT, or IoT-driven systems
  • Understanding of mobile authentication flows and device provisioning
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with hardware, firmware, or mobile developers

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is required. Master’s degree in related fields would be a plus

· 1+ years’ experience in Software development in a product oriented environment, * Bachelor’s (Preferred)
