Job description

Our client, a comprehensive public institution, is currently seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst to support the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in protecting critical information systems and institutional data in Daytona Beach, FL. This role is responsible for monitoring cybersecurity threats, responding to security incidents, assessing vulnerabilities, and helping maintain a secure computing environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and technical expertise, with the ability to work collaboratively while handling highly sensitive information.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM and endpoint security tools.
  • Investigate, triage, and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability scans, and authorized security testing.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
  • Support compliance efforts related to GLBA, FERPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and FIPA.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information.

Preferred Certifications:

Candidates with one or more of the following certifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • GSEC
  • SSCP
  • CySA+
  • CCSP
