Software Engineer-Developer 4

The Software Engineer develops and maintains software applications, analytics tools, and deployment environments supporting defense software engineering operations. The role focuses on software development, systems integration, CI/CD implementation, Kubernetes deployments, and collaboration across cross-functional engineering teams., * Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards

• Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software product designs
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for system integrations
• Document and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
• Participate in agile software development lifecycle activities, including planning, reviews, and customer meetings
• Debug and resolve technical issues to ensure software reliability and efficiency
• Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback
• Implement current and emerging software technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes
• Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics
• Execute and document software research and development projects
• Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
• Perform software project management activities and software supplier management functions
• Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to improve software solutions and achieve program objectives
• Support Engineering Analytics activities for Boeing Defense, Space & Security Software Engineering organization
• Develop and maintain data analysis tools and environments
• Travel up to 10% domestically as required
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Support possible overtime opportunities as required

• Active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph
• 5+ years of experience in foundational Computer Science knowledge
• 3+ years of experience in Python scripting
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related field and 9+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes deployments

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Preferred Skills
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• Experience working with the transformation of large quantities of time series data
• Experience in architecting microservice and n-tier software applications
• Experience with Java and Javascript/React
• Experience with databases, Linux, and mTLS
