Job description

Current Technology Group, Inc. (CTG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and SBA 8(a) federal IT and data-analytics firm. We are building a team to support a federal Office of Inspector General (OIG) data-analytics engagement and are seeking a Senior Data Engineer. This position is contingent upon contract award., Position Overview: The Senior Data Engineer builds and maintains the data pipelines, models, and platforms that power analytics for a federal oversight mission. Working alongside data scientists and analysts, you will ingest, transform, and integrate large, complex datasets and keep existing code repositories, pipelines, and data models running reliably and securely., Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to move data from multiple structured and unstructured sources into centralized data stores.

  • Build and optimize data models and warehouses on cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure / Synapse preferred).

  • Maintain, repair, and enhance existing pipelines, code repositories, and data assets developed by prior teams.

  • Implement data quality, security, and compliance controls appropriate to a federal environment.

  • Partner with data scientists to operationalize models and deliver analytic products.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of data-engineering experience, ideally supporting federal or otherwise regulated environments.

  • Strong proficiency with SQL and Python, ETL/ELT tooling, and cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).

  • Experience with big-data frameworks and building/maintaining production data pipelines.

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation / public trust.

Preferred:

  • Azure Synapse, Data Factory, or Databricks experience.

  • Prior experience supporting an OIG, audit, or financial-analytics mission.

  • Relevant security certification (e.g., IAT Level II) a plus.
