Job description

Current Technology Group, Inc. (CTG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and SBA 8(a) federal IT and data-analytics firm. We are building a team to support a federal Office of Inspector General (OIG) data-analytics engagement and are seeking a Senior Data Scientist. This position is contingent upon contract award., Position Overview: The Senior Data Scientist designs and applies advanced analytics, statistical models, and machine-learning techniques to large, complex federal datasets in support of audits, investigations, and oversight activities. You will translate mission questions into analytic approaches, build and validate models, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders., Develop and apply statistical, machine-learning, and data-mining models to detect anomalies and indicators of fraud, waste, and abuse across large datasets.

  • Acquire, clean, integrate, and explore data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.

  • Build dashboards, visualizations, and repeatable analytic products that support audits and investigations.

  • Document methodologies and present results to technical and executive audiences.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and government stakeholders.

Requirements

Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of applied data-science experience, ideally supporting federal or otherwise regulated environments.

  • Proficiency in Python and/or R, SQL, and modern machine-learning frameworks.

  • Strong background in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data visualization.

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation / public trust.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience supporting an OIG, audit, fraud-detection, or financial-analytics mission.

  • Experience with cloud analytics platforms (Azure preferred) and big-data tooling.
