Job description

We are seeking a leader to serve as our VP of Engineering. This role is designed for a technical heart who thrives on the duality of leadership: part strategic architect, part operational leader. You will oversee the company’s engineering efforts for our Managed Services Provider (MSP), Federal Consulting, and Next Generation 9-1-1 Interoperability Test Lab lines of business, ensuring that every engagement meets the high standards of reliability and security. Successful candidate must have rich experience in IP networking, Cybersecurity, Voice over IP (VoIP) technology and Public Safety Communications.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives

· Bridge Strategy & Execution: Turn high-level company goals into technical reality by designing engineering roadmaps and managing them through to successful deployment.

· Operational Oversight: Lead daily engineering operations with a focus on resource optimization, milestone achievement, and budgetary discipline.

· Partner with company executives to turn business requirements into engineering roadmaps.

· Security Leadership: Oversee critical cybersecurity task, ensuring our mission-critical communication platforms are hardened against emerging threats.

· Team Development: Build a culture of excellence through active coaching, performance management, and strategic talent acquisition.

Requirements

· Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of IP networking, VoIP, cybersecurity, and the specialized requirements of Next Generation 911 and Emergency Communications.

· Leadership: 7+ years of experience managing engineering teams and navigating complex project lifecycles.

· Technical Depth: 10+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications and network engineering.

· Academic Foundation: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering.

Work Schedule

This position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. East Coast Time. Office is located in Winchester, VA. A hybrid schedule will be considered for an employee outside of the area.
