INTL Senior Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of a critical performance-focused platform that powers core business functionality. This role will focus heavily on backend development, API design, and modernization of existing applications within AWS environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep Python expertise, strong architectural decision-making capabilities, and experience inheriting and improving existing codebases. This is a highly autonomous role requiring an engineer who can independently drive technical solutions while ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

• Strong professional experience with Python for backend development and API creation.
• Experience working with AWS in production environments.
• Experience maintaining and modernizing existing codebases, especially those built by third parties.
• Ability to independently own projects and make architectural decisions.
• Strong backend engineering mindset with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Experience with C#, .NET Core, or willingness to work closely with teams using that stack. - Terraform or infrastructure-as-code experience
• Background in data-heavy systems, analytics, or computation-focused applications
• Front-end experience (Vue3 preferred)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
