Job description

Looking for a skilled Network Administrator opportunity at a place you can make an impact every day? Join our team in Albuquerque, NM and bring your collaborative skills to support our military readiness in this vital role.

Serco supports the 705 Combat Training Squadron (CTS), Kirtland AFB, NM as the prime on the DMOC (Distributed Mission Operations Center) Infrastructure, Development and Engineering (IDE) contract. The 705 CTS provides training at scale to prepare warfighters for combat in joint and coalition environments. This team works fully onsite at Kirtland AFB, NM.

As a member of our team, you will be part of a small group of professionals dedicated to supporting this critical mission. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training events, as well as maintaining and optimizing LAN and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) network systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in networking principles, hands-on experience with cryptographic security devices, and a deep understanding of layer 2/3 routing and switching.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN and DISA network systems to ensure uninterrupted support for LVC training events.
  • Perform basic configuration, security management, and optimization of routers and switches.
  • Implement and manage Video and Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions.
  • Configure and maintain VLANs across Layer 2 and Layer 3 infrastructures.
  • Oversee IP subnetting and routing protocol management.
  • Manage, configure, and secure TACLANE and other cryptographic security devices (specifically KG-175) using GEM One.
  • Collaborate with training coordinators and engineering teams to ensure network readiness for all simulated and live events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • 2 years of IT networking experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoW Secret Clearance.
  • Must possess, or obtain within six months, a DoW 8140 IAT Level II or higher (i.e. Security+, CySA+, CISSP).
  • Solid understanding of core networking principles, IP subnetting, and routing protocols.
  • Proven experience with VLAN operations (Layer 2 and Layer 3).
  • Hands-on experience with Switch and Router basic configuration and security management.
  • Working knowledge of copper cabling standards (568B).

Additional desired qualifications:

  • CCNA, equivalent, or higher-level networking certification.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds or ManageEngine OpManager.
  • Understanding of Linux operating system basics.
  • Experience with Fiber Optic and CAT6 cabling installation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), Cisco Secure Firewalls and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Experience working with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), and Cisco Expressway.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocol management and interaction.
  • Working knowledge of TACLANE encryptors
