Job description
DevOps Engineer - Own and evolve the cloud infrastructure that underpins our product. Deeply cares about reliability, security, and automation, and enjoys working closely with application engineers. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure-as-code.
- Own deployment pipelines and automate operational workflows to keep the team moving fast.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure system health and rapid incident response.
- Manage and optimize production databases, including performance tuning, backups, and replication.
- Establish and enforce infrastructure security best practices across environments.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to support smooth releases and resolve production issues.
- Build for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery from day one.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or equivalent).
- Experience automating systems using Python or similar Scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL operations and performance considerations.
- Familiarity with modern observability tools (eg New Relic, Sentry, Datadog).
- Strong grasp of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM and network design.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads.
- Experience operating systems in high-traffic or mission-critical environments.
- Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration at scale.
- Knowledge of additional Scripting or systems languages.
- Experience working in early-stage or high-growth startups.
- Own critical infrastructure at a growing, well-funded AI-native fintech.
- Work closely with a small, highly capable engineering team.
- In-person, highly collaborative culture based in San Francisco.
