Job description

DevOps Engineer - Own and evolve the cloud infrastructure that underpins our product. Deeply cares about reliability, security, and automation, and enjoys working closely with application engineers. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure-as-code.
  • Own deployment pipelines and automate operational workflows to keep the team moving fast.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure system health and rapid incident response.
  • Manage and optimize production databases, including performance tuning, backups, and replication.
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure security best practices across environments.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to support smooth releases and resolve production issues.
  • Build for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery from day one.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or equivalent).
  • Experience automating systems using Python or similar Scripting languages.
  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL operations and performance considerations.
  • Familiarity with modern observability tools (eg New Relic, Sentry, Datadog).
  • Strong grasp of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM and network design.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads.
  • Experience operating systems in high-traffic or mission-critical environments.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration at scale.
  • Knowledge of additional Scripting or systems languages.
  • Experience working in early-stage or high-growth startups.
  • Own critical infrastructure at a growing, well-funded AI-native fintech.
  • Work closely with a small, highly capable engineering team.
  • In-person, highly collaborative culture based in San Francisco.
