Job description
Neteo Broadband is hiring a field-based Field Service Technician in Colorado. This non-exempt telecommunications role installs, troubleshoots, and maintains residential, commercial, tower, backhaul, power, and network equipment. Pay range: $21.00-$25.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, and business needs. Benefits include Colorado paid sick leave as required by law, employee stock options subject to plan terms, and company-provided tower-climbing certification. The role also offers travel and overtime/on-call opportunities. Multi-day travel, weekends, and scheduled on-call work are required.
What You Will Do:
- Install, align, optimize, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade Tarana, Cambium, Ubiquiti, Aviat, Intracomm, and similar fixed wireless platforms.
- Complete residential and commercial broadband installations, service calls, site surveys, signal testing, and RF alignment.
- Use multimeters, spectrum scanners, RF alignment tools, and approved field equipment safely.
- Climb communication towers after certification to service antennas, radios, cabling, grounding, and safety systems.
- Support microwave backhaul, remote sites, tower inspections, DC power systems, batteries, backup/solar components, and grounding.
- Install and troubleshoot MikroTik routers, Netonix switching gear, Ethernet, and fiber patch connections.
- Interpret maps, diagrams, work orders, and technical documentation; maintain accurate field and time records.
- Travel for network builds and represent Neteo Broadband professionally with customers and communities.
Requirements
- Technical experience in telecommunications, fixed wireless, WISP operations, networking, electronics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of MikroTik routers, basic switching, IP networking, RF troubleshooting, and low-voltage DC power.
- Understanding of grounding, bonding, batteries, and safe power-handling practices.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet lawful company driving requirements and travel throughout assigned regions.
- Ability to complete tower-climbing, fall-protection, rescue, and related safety training before tower work.
- Availability for multi-day travel, weekends, approved overtime, and scheduled on-call rotation.
- Strong customer-service communication and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Experience with microwave backhaul, spectrum analysis, tower/site builds, fiber splicing, or solar power is preferred.
What You Will Experience:
- Outdoor and active field work in heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, uneven terrain, traffic, noise, and remote locations.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, and handling tools, cables, and equipment.
- Tower work at substantial heights using approved fall-protection equipment after required training.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting or moving up to 70 pounds.
- Extended driving, travel, and work near RF equipment, electrical systems, batteries, and mechanical hazards under established controls.
This is a non-exempt position. Overtime is paid at one and one-half times the regular rate when required by federal or Colorado law, including applicable daily, consecutive-hour, and weekly thresholds.
