Job description
Leidos is seeking a strong Linux engineer with experience with Debian that can bring automation skills that the team currently lacks (Ansible, scripting, AI integration for example) to help streamline/add efficiencies. The selected candidate will be joining an existing team of skilled Linux engineers, but the chosen engineer will bring skills that can bind the engineering and automation together.\n \n \nPrimary Responsibilities:\n \n \n
- This office is responsible for building and operating a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and services, hosting dozens of Commercial off the shelf (COTS), Government off the shelf (GOTS), and custom applications, as well as a large data lake. \n
- The system has on-premises components deployed at multiple data centers, as well as use of commercial cloud resources. \n
- The Linux Engineer will be required to join an existing team with a diverse background and strong organizational skills to facilitate the accreditation and document systems deployments across the environment. \n
- This team works in a 24 hour, 7 day a week environment and provide in-depth Tier 2 through Tier 4 level support and problem resolution for technology products and applications. \n
- The Linux Engineer will lead and perform engineering efforts in the areas of Windows and Linux servers, workstations, storage, and virtualization; perform data center management tasks such as physical capacity management, hardware installation and commissioning, inventory, decommissioning and removal, and destruction; and coordinate engineering projects including performing technical risk assessment, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questions or conflicts. \n
- The team gathers performance and utilization metrics from infrastructure components and proactively inform the customer when thresholds are me and maintain an accurate inventory to include, but not limited to, accountable property and electronic network encryption devices. \n
- They also manage and deploy infrastructure components such as installing cables and circuits and labeling cables, build and maintain desktop workstations and provide troubleshooting assistance and patching as needed, and perform Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, consisting of virtual servers, virtual desktops, and automation solutions. \n
- Any candidates should be prepared to provide oversite and maintenance to Windows Group Policy, build and maintain Windows servers in an Amazon Web Service environment, and deploy and maintain configuration standards in accordance with Sponsor’s security posture.\n
Requirements
- Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly to be considered.\n
- Must have a Bachelors Degree and at least 12 years of experience OR a Masters and at least 10 years of experience or at least 16 years of experience in lieu of degree.\n
- Debian Linux experience \n
- Demonstrated experience performing configuration and management of VMware vCenter and VMware NSX-T\n
- Experience with coordinating engineering projects including performing technical risk assessment, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questions or conflicts.\n
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining Active Directory, Domain Naming System (DNS), Distributed File System (DFS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)\n
- Demonstrated experience maintaining Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) in accordance with security posture\n
- Demonstrated experience supporting and operations and maintenance of infrastructure environments\n
- Demonstrated experience working with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee EPO, and BitLocker\n
- Demonstrated experience managing requirements using ServiceNow application.\n, * Experience with Rocky\n
- Demonstrated experience creating and presenting system documentation briefings to review and approval boards\n
- Demonstrated hands on experience with the Sponsor’s property destruction process.\n
- Demonstrated experience working with Center for Internet Security Benchmarks.\n
- Demonstrated experience working with VMWare Horizon VDI.\n
- Demonstrated experience managing Sponsors accountable and network encryption devices property.\n
