Senior Staff Engineer, CAE Infrastructure & R&D Software

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and standardize EDA design environments and large-scale compute infrastructure to support semiconductor design teams. You will lead license management and vendor negotiations, build scalable compute farms, and define roadmaps for design systems. You’ll collaborate across organizations to raise engineering productivity, reduce costs, and ensure robust DevOps and tooling. Compensation / Benefits * Define standard processes for design flow onboarding, tool qualification, version control, and provide support for EDA tool environments * Lead EDA license contracts, management, capacity planning, and cost optimization through utilization monitoring * Define roadmap for EDA design environment and infrastructure based on design organization needs * Design and optimize LSF compute farm (or similar) including cluster architecture, scheduling policies, and capacity planning * Build and operate user login environments (Exceed TurboX, ETX) and establish user support model * Oversee governance, upgrades, and migrations for Jira and Confluence in DevOps ecosystems * Drive consolidation and standardization of Enterprise R&D software portfolio Tasks * 15+ years in CAD/CAE, EDA infrastructure, or engineering IT within semiconductor design environments * Experience building and operating EDA design environments and providing technical support to design organizations * Experience with EDA license contract management, license server operations, and utilization-based capacity optimization * Experience building and operating large-scale compute farms with IBM LSF (or SLURM, Grid Engine) and tuning job scheduling * Experience deploying and operating remote desktop / user login environments (Exceed TurboX, VNC, X11) * Hands-on large-scale Linux system administration experience * Working knowledge of license management systems (FlexLM/FlexNet) and major EDA tool ecosystems (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens) * Automation and scripting proficiency in Python, Perl, Tcl, or shell * Track record of establishing and rolling out standards and processes across multiple organizations Key requirements * 4+ weeks paid time off * Medical/Dental/Vision/401k * charitable giving match * flexible environment * onsite café and gym * emotional wellness support
