Job description
- Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, datacenter switching, and wireless.
- Configure and support routing, VLANs, switching, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, QoS, BGP etc.
- Administer Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD), including security policies, access rules, VPNs, and upgrades.
- Manage Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, HybridAD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and support windows desktop operating systems.
- Administer Linux servers, including maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, and security updates.
- Perform system upgrades, configuration changes, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.
- Administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, resources, security, and connectivity.
- Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, licensing, authentication, and security configurations.
- Support hybrid cloud environments and cloud-based infrastructure initiatives.
- Manage security platforms including Cloudflare DNS/WAF, SentinelOne EDR, and email security solutions.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across network, systems, and cloud environments.
- Monitor security alerts, investigate issues, and coordinate remediation.
- Support vulnerability management, risk mitigation, and security improvement initiatives.
- Manage IT procurement for hardware, software, licensing, cloud services, and maintenance renewals.
- Evaluate technology solutions and recommend products based on business and technical requirements.
- Track IT assets, warranties, subscriptions, licenses, and support agreements.
- Assist with IT budgeting, forecasting, and technology planning.
- Lead and participate in IT infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and implementation strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to deliver technology initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects while ensuring delivery within scope and timeline.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to improve reliability, security, and efficiency.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for infrastructure, networking, systems, and security issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support of critical IT incidents, including overnight and weekend coverage.
- Support planned after-hours maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
- Maintain clear communication, incident documentation, and post-incident follow-up.
- Support disaster recovery planning, backup management, and business continuity initiatives.
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Network Administrator to manage and support our enterprise IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for networking, Windows and Linux systems administration, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, cloud services, IT procurement, vendor management, and infrastructure projects. As a small organization, the successful candidate will wear multiple hats while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment., * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Strong experience with enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies like routers, switches, Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD), including firewall policies, VPNs, access controls, and security configurations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
- Experience administering Linux server environments, including system maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, and security updates.
- Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems and end-user computing environments.
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure cloud environments, including networking, security, and resource administration.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience managing DNS, domain services, SSL certificates, and Internet-facing services.
- Experience with cybersecurity technologies such as endpoint protection, email security, web application firewalls, and security monitoring platforms.
- Experience managing IT projects from planning through implementation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including scheduled overnight and weekend support.
- Must be able to move, lift, and install IT equipment weighing up to 40 lbs., including monitors, keyboards, desktop computers, laptops, printers, networking equipment, firewalls, and related hardware.
- Ability to work in server rooms, network closets, and equipment areas as needed.
- Drivers license valid in New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized organization where broad IT ownership and cross-functional responsibilities are required.
- Experience with IT budgeting, forecasting, and technology planning.
- Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with SIEM, vulnerability management, and security assessment tools.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted IT operations and productivity tools.
- Relevant industry certifications such as:
- Cisco CCNP
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Administrator, * Bachelor’s (Required), * Network administration: 5 years (Required)
- Azure: 5 years (Required)
- Active Directory: 5 years (Preferred)
- Cybersecurity: 5 years (Required)
