Job description

As a Lead Solution Architect, you’ll be crucial in shaping the architecture of our technology solutions, ensuring they align with our business goals and strategies. You’ll lead the design and implementation of Electric Work and Asset Management solutions, driving innovation and excellence in our technology landscape. You’ll provide technical solution architecture guidance and Architecture expertise to the Programs and Products supporting the Electric Domain and responsible for development of architecture design of end-to-end solutions. Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure alignment of IT strategies with business goals and identify capability gaps and technology recommendations to achieve our strategic objectives.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and direction for the design of highly complex and large-scale systems solutions to effectively meet business needs. Provide leadership for the architecture and solution design of projects/products that address strategic business needs and compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes in-depth analysis of multiple solution options and outlining technology recommendations.
  • Define the roadmaps from the “as-is state” to the “to-be state”. Design secure, efficient, and adaptable future state models. Define the high-level migration/transition plans to address the gaps between the “as-is” and future state.
  • Lead the Solution design and guide implementation of scalable, robust, and secure solutions.
  • Create Conceptual Architecture that addresses the high-level business requirements.
  • Develop Logical and Physical Architecture of Solutions and platforms
  • Develop integration patterns and detailed integration designs to enable timely and efficient delivery and data
  • Design secure, scalable and flexible solutions and ensure non-functional, reliability and observability requirements are designed in from the start.
  • Maintain broad knowledge in the business applications/services that comprise the electric work and asset management domain.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the business electric applications domain.
  • Establish, adhere and enforce architecture principles, guidelines, and standards.

Requirements

We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Lead Solution Architect for our IT & Digital department. This position can be located in Waltham, MA, or Brooklyn,NY (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine or the UK). If you yearn to be innovative, contribute new ideas, and play a critical part on our team, we want to hear from you!, * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • 5+ years of experience designing systems for use in large-scale enterprises.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technology development and/or implementation experience.
  • Strong technical skills around vendor product selection, software and technology analysis, business analytics, interfaces such as REST, and modern software technologies such as Containers and Microservices.
  • Experience with one or more of the TOGAF (or equivalent framework) architectural domains in business, application, data, technology; have used architecture tools such as Troux, Alfabet, Sparx or equivalent.
  • Experience in architectural support of Agile delivery framework and digital product lifecycle.
  • Experience in developing solutions with both custom and COTS applications.
  • Experience in Work & Asset Mgm technology related to utilities would be a plus, such as: Asset and Work Management Solutions, Geospatial Systems Maximo, MAS8/9 , ESRI GIS, National Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future. You must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Benefits & conditions

Waltham: $157k - $184k a year

Brooklyn: $168k - $197k a year
