Job description
The IT Support Specialist provides essential technical support for Fiesta Tableware Company’s internal technology systems, hardware, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, supporting system reliability and security, maintaining core IT processes, and ensuring the efficient operation of the company’s technology environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to internal teams.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a regular Monday through Friday work schedule. Due to the nature of Fiesta Tableware Company’s manufacturing operations, occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required to support plant operations, production shifts, scheduled projects, system maintenance, upgrades, special events, or unexpected technology issues.
Flexibility to provide support outside of normal business hours when operationally necessary is an expectation of this position., * Provide timely and effective technical support to employees via phone, email, remote support tools, and in person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, networking, peripherals, and business applications.
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain computer systems, software, printers, mobile devices, and network hardware.
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of servers, network drives, storage systems, security configurations, and other IT infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and availability and proactively identify and address issues that could result in service interruptions.
- Support and maintain enterprise software, internal applications, and other business-critical technology.
- Perform and coordinate software updates, security patches, and routine system maintenance.
- Own and manage the backup process for core systems, including monitoring backup jobs, addressing failures, verifying successful backups, and periodically testing data restoration.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to company systems in accordance with established security policies and procedures.
- Assist with network administration, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN connectivity, and other network infrastructure.
- Provide training and assistance to employees regarding technology, applications, cybersecurity awareness, and IT best practices.
- Document and track support requests, incidents, changes, and resolutions within the IT service management platform.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for systems, equipment, procedures, configurations, and recurring IT processes.
- Collaborate with the Director of Information Technology and other IT personnel on system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, technology deployments, and special projects.
- Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, access control, and other security-related activities.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable company policies, cybersecurity requirements, data protection requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in troubleshooting and recovery efforts during system outages and other technology-related incidents.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Two or more years of experience in an IT support, help desk, desktop support, or similar technical role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, common business applications, and computer hardware.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networking.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, remote support tools, endpoint management, and IT ticketing systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, software applications, and network connectivity.
- Working knowledge of enterprise backup concepts, including backup scheduling, retention, monitoring, restoration, and recovery testing.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, access controls, patch management, endpoint security, and data protection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to provide occasional after-hours and weekend support based on operational needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms and technologies.
- Experience supporting virtualized server environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based administration.
- Knowledge of SQL databases and basic database management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud computing platforms.
- Experience with network switches, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, and related networking technologies.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus., * Associate (Required)
