Job description
As a certified health department, the Douglas County Health Department is responsible for several programs as well as many other public health services. Programs are grouped into divisions relating to either nursing, environmental health or health education. All programs have an educational component. The goal of this department is to increase the awareness and number of persons reached in this educational process., Provides onsite technology, EHR, website, and end-user support for the organization. Maintains systems and access, coordinates with vendors, and protects confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies., * Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers, scanners, phones, mobile devices, audio/visual equipment, operating systems, and applications.
- Support employee accounts, email, Microsoft Office, Adobe, virtual meeting platforms, Active Directory, VOIP, and other approved technology.
- Serve as the primary internal resource for EHR support, including troubleshooting, access, staff training, updates, workflow improvements, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain the organization website by posting approved content, forms, notices, job openings, and other updates; check for outdated information, broken links, and functionality issues.
- Support cybersecurity practices, including access controls, multifactor authentication, software updates, backups, downtime procedures, and incident reporting.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of technology equipment and assets, including assigned users, locations, serial numbers, purchase dates, warranties, software licenses, and equipment status. Coordinate the setup, reassignment, return, replacement, and secure disposal of equipment.
- Set up, modify, and deactivate user accounts and system access based on approved authorization and role requirements.
- Maintain system, equipment, vendor, access, and service documentation; identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Safeguard electronic protected health information and follow HIPAA privacy and security requirements, confidentiality standards, and DCHD policies.
- Coordinate with county IT, EHR, website, phone, and other technology vendors

- Ability to use computer equipment for extended periods and occasionally move or install office technology and equipment.
Requirements
- Regular predictable onsite attendance is required.
- Ability to protect confidential information, communicate clearly, prioritize requests, document work, and provide effective customer service.
- Ability to recognize and promptly escalate security, privacy, patient-safety, or major system concerns.
- Education and Experience:
- Two years of progressively responsible IT-related experience supporting Windows, Active Directory, computer hardware, productivity software, email, and end users.
- Healthcare IT, EHR, HIPAA-regulated environment, website content management, or relevant degree/certification experience preferred.

Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $18.00-$25.00 hourly. The anticipated starting salary is $19.00-$22.00, depending on the selected candidate’s directly related experience, education, licensure, certifications, and overall qualifications, as well as internal equity and available funding. An exceptionally qualified candidate may be considered above the anticipated starting range, but within the full approved salary range.
