Job description

UX Pilot is an AI-powered design platform that enables designers, product managers, and teams to create high-quality UX/UI designs in minutes. We’re transforming how digital products are designed, from initial concept to production-ready mockups.

We’re at an exciting stage: proven product-market fit with individual users, and now expanding into enterprise team collaboration and workflow integrations. We’re building the features that will make UX Pilot essential for product teams at companies like Qualys, Verizon, Agoda, and hundreds of fast-growing businesses., We’re looking for a Designer Engineer who can own the pieces of product experience and shape what UX Pilot looks and feels like as we scale. Design at UX Pilot is about balancing creative vision with deep attention to detail, and pushing what users expect from an AI-native design tool.

You’ll work directly on the product to drive the design of our core platform, our AI workflows, and the systems that hold everything together. You’ll be expected to think like an owner: define the bar, ship at velocity, and lead users to the aha moment as fast as possible.

What You’ll Do

Own the Product Experience End-to-End

  • Own the design of complete user journeys, from first touchpoint through core workflows to retention-driving moments
  • Design for the full B2B complexity: multi-role workflows, admin/user permission layers, onboarding for teams, and enterprise-grade settings and controls
  • Translate AI-powered and technically complex functionality into experiences that feel obvious and effortless
  • Produce wireframes, flows, prototypes, and production-ready high-fidelity UI, at pace
  • Define the design principles and quality bar for the platform and hold the team to it
  • Lead zero-friction design: remove every unnecessary step between a user signing up and getting to value

Design Systems and Platform

  • Own and evolve UX Pilot’s design system, making it leaner, more scalable, and AI-aware
  • Define the patterns, components, and tokens that power consistent experiences across web, editor, and enterprise surfaces
  • Partner with engineering to ship system-wide improvements that compound across product teams
  • Build the foundations that let us move fast without breaking quality
  • Velocity and Craft
  • Ship at the speed AI SaaS demands: rapid iteration cycles, hands-on vibe coding execution (Claude)
  • Balance individual contributor work with leading by example, including being deeply hands-on
  • Prototype and validate quickly with real users; ruthlessly cut what doesn’t move the needle
  • Push the bar on visual craft, motion, and interaction quality

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work directly with the founder on product direction and strategic bets
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineering on roadmap, scoping, and tradeoffs
  • Collaborate with brand and marketing on consistent expression across all touchpoints
  • Mentor designers as the team grows

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with proven impact on complex consumer or B2B SaaS products
  • Demonstrated experience with complex design systems and enterprise products
  • Track record of owning end-to-end product experiences, not just shipping features in isolation
  • Experience in a startup or scaleup environment, ideally in fast-paced AI or developer tools

Skills and Competencies

  • Expert in Claude Code, Figma and other modern design system tooling
  • Excellent visual design with a sharp eye for typography, layout, motion, and detail
  • Strong systems thinking: you can hold the whole product in your head while shipping a single screen
  • Deep understanding of how to approach zero-friction design and lead users to aha moments quickly
  • The ability to make solid product and design decisions in ambiguous or complex problem spaces
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication

Velocity Mindset

  • You understand the velocity of shipping in the AI SaaS field and operate at that pace
  • Comfortable with rapid iteration, fast feedback loops, and daily prioritization
  • Bias for action: you’d rather ship and learn than polish in isolation

Benefits & conditions

  • High-Impact Role: Own the product experience that will drive our next phase of growth to $10M+ ARR. Your design decisions directly shape what tens of thousands of users see every day.
  • Strong Product-Market Fit (Bootstrapped): We’ve proven the product works. Now we’re scaling craft and consistency across a much bigger surface area.
  • Direct Founder Access: Work directly with the founder on product direction. No layers, no politics, fast decisions.
  • Enterprise Timing: Join at the perfect moment, early enough to define the design language for our enterprise platform, late enough to have resources and customer validation.
  • Growth Opportunity: As we scale, there’s significant opportunity to grow into Head of Design.
  • Modern Stack: Work with cutting-edge AI technology and solve genuinely novel design problems that don’t have established patterns yet.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: Up to $4,000 / month (adjusted for experience) (B2B contract)
  • Equity: Stock options included
  • Fully remote work with flexible hours
  • 22 days paid downtime + local public holidays
  • Lots of freedom to create value, for a fast growing product and more than 20k daily users
  • Zero politics, flat structure, delivery focused
