Job description

The Senior Technical/Graphics Specialist provides advanced document processing services and general support, creating a variety of documents and materials using advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and other firm supported software. In addition, the position is responsible for designing various marketing and other firm branded materials and pitch materials, and training and mentoring technical and document production specialists. The person in this role will be certified in a variety of firm software applications and have proficiency with a variety graphic design and marketing programs., * Using design software and other technical applications to create print pieces including newsletters, invitations, announcements, advertisements, posters and brochures, using firm design guidelines and templates

  • Designing and implementing on-line promotional projects and on-line media such as banners and email newsletters
  • Creating templates in various programs for use by marketing and other departments
  • Creating and assembling client pitch materials
  • Assisting with more difficult and complex production assignments
  • Training and mentoring of document production specialists and technical specialists
  • Performing scanning, clean-up and formatting of images for more advanced level projects
  • Proofreading
  • Responding to inquiries regarding status of projects
  • Answering routine and complex questions regarding basic applications and department procedures
  • Assisting the IT department in answering routine and complex help desk questions
  • Continuing to develop proficiency with document production software and technical applications

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience working in a graphic design environment.
  • Degree in Graphic Design preferred.
  • Certification as a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) and ability to implement design solutions across Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with macro development and document shortcuts
  • Accurate and proficient typing skills (minimum of 75 words per minute preferred), * Microsoft Word expertise should include the ability to troubleshoot non-standard documents, prepare tables of contents, prepare tables of authorities, set up and run mail merges, and create labels and badges.
  • Microsoft Excel expertise should include setting up spreadsheets, writing standard and complex formulas, complex formatting and setting printing parameters.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint expertise should include formatting PowerPoint presentations using templates and standards, analyzing and resolving PowerPoint issues.
  • Adobe Acrobat expertise should include converting documents to PDF, preparing CDs (create links between index and other files, prepare CD labels and jewel case covers and burn CDs), creating fill-able PDF forms, revising PDF documents, and preparing redactions of PDFs.
  • Proficiency with several of the following software programs: AIA, Kanguru Burner Tower, Epson Print CD, OJOSoft Video Converter, Olympus Transcribing Software, DocXtools, Expert, OmniPage 14, Visio, document production tracking software programs, Adobe, and ChangePro.
  • High proficiency with QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver, Adobe CS 5 (or higher), including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, After Effects and Premiere.
  • Ability to produce accurate work product with minimum revision
  • Excellent proofreading skills.
  • High level of technical aptitude and graphic creativity.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and opportunities and address them with limited to no supervision.
  • Ability to analyze tasks to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Ability to function in a high production environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to handle any tasks that are needed, maintain a flexible work schedule and work overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and geographic location.
