Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a top utility client. This person will support high-visibility analytics initiatives focused on operational performance, reliability, and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong data engineering, SQL, reporting, and statistical analysis experience, along with an interest in emerging AI and analytics technologies. This is a highly autonomous role for someone who can work directly with stakeholders, solve complex business problems, and deliver meaningful data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Senior-level data engineering experience

  • Strong programming skills or AI-assisted programming experience

  • Experience using AI tools/prompts for data analysis

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes

  • Statistical analysis experience

  • Ability to work independently with minimal training

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - Minitab experience

  • Power BI experience

  • Microsoft Fabric experience

  • Snowflake experience

  • SAP data/reporting experience

  • Utility industry experience

  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or predictive analytics

Experience documenting business rules and data lineage

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: 77.40/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
