Job description

The selected Project/Systems Engineer - Level 3 responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Technical Leadership team across A&D GWS. This role is responsible for developing programmatic and engineering management products for hardware and software items that directly support the development of GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)., * Identify design or programmatic solutions that meet the customer needs

  • Develop master schedules, integrated logic flows, work breakdown, and assist in program cost estimates.
  • Coordination and implementation of design and analysis activities
  • Identification of risks/mitigations and tracking to closure in Risk Tracker
  • Lead the coordination of internal milestones objectives to Senior Leadership and Customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master’s Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD. and 1 year of related work experience.
  • Applicants must be current U.S. Citizens and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance for this position. A clearance is not required to apply; however, an interim clearance is required to start. Start dates may be adjusted to account for the completion of the interim clearance processing.
  • Experience with the proposal process
  • Knowledge and experience in System Engineering tools and disciplines
  • Well experienced in Jira
  • Experienced in Agile planning and execution
  • Coordinates across IPTs with fellow PEs on design, process, and quality of the product
  • Develop program execution plans and work closely with the Program Office
  • Ability to work with a wide range of positions both within and outside of NGC
  • Development, coordination, and allocation of project and planning requirements, * Strong understanding and broad application of PS engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in generating technical solutions in the absence of complete customer requirements
  • Management of engineering scope as it pertains to budgeting and participation in EVMS evaluations
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and design for manufacturability
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS
  • GMD experience

Benefits & conditions

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
