Job description

As a Systems Engineer at Webjogger, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems for our clients. You will work closely with our clients and internal teams to ensure that their IT infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with their business needs., * System Design and Implementation: Collaborate with clients to assess their IT needs, design tailored solutions, and deploy and configure hardware and software systems.

  • Network Management: Monitor and manage client networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Server Administration: Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, ensuring system stability, performance, and security.
  • Virtualization: Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to create, configure, and maintain virtual machines.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Security: Implement and maintain security measures, including antivirus, intrusion detection, and firewall configurations.
  • Technical Support: Provide responsive technical support to clients, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues with proper prioritization.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of client systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of IT services and solutions.
  • Stay Current: Continuously update your knowledge and skills in IT technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in the MSP industry or a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in systems engineering or a related role in an MSP or similar environment.
  • High level proficiency in one or more of the following: Microsoft 365 Administration, Windows Server Administration, Webex, Fortinet networking, Ubiquiti, printer networking, Mac iOS
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build positive client relationships.
  • Reliable transportation is required. Position is in office with regular reimbursed travel to customer sites in the Hudson Valley.
  • This position will require the physical ability to lift, carry and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to see color.
