Job description

Brooksource is seeking an Associate Data Engineer to join our public sector partner in downtown Indianapolis as they advance enterprise Data Governance and Data Management modernization initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to support critical data platforms and processes that help agencies make informed decisions, improve operational efficiency, and enhance services delivered to Indiana residents. We are looking for individuals with a civil servant mindset, innate curiosity, and a thorough, detail-oriented approach who are eager to grow their skills in Python, SQL, and enterprise data environments while contributing to meaningful, mission-driven work that positively impacts citizens across the state., · Develop and maintain data engineering solutions using Python and SQL.

· Build, support, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.

· Query, transform, validate, and analyze data within enterprise on-premises SQL environments.

· Support integration of data from multiple business systems and enterprise applications.

· Monitor data processes and resolve data quality, performance, and processing issues.

· Collaborate with technical and business teams to support reporting requirements.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in related field.

· 0-2 years of experience including internships, co-ops, or academic projects.

· Strong foundational experience with Python for data engineering, scripting, and data transformation.

· Proficiency with SQL in enterprise on-prem environments.

· Exposure to enterprise technologies and large-scale data environments.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting reporting, analytics, or data integration initiatives.

· Exposure to enterprise data management tools; WhereScape is a plus.

· Familiarity with Git and Agile environments.
