Job description

Earthjustice’s Development Department (our fundraising team) is seeking a Salesforce Administrator to support our current CRM migration to Agentforce for Nonprofits as well as long-term management of our nonprofit’s development technologies. This is a non-supervisory position that will report to the Associate Director of Development Technology Solutions. This role maneuvers Earthjustice through intensive, project-based work to launch our new CRM before transitioning into an operationalized administrator role thereafter. The position will enable robust CRM integrations and stabilize and mature our new technology ecosystem - keeping data healthy, well-governed, and useful for our 100+ CRM users.

Our CRM sits at the center of a connected ecosystem - linked to our data warehouse and analytics layer, marketing automation, and donor-services tools. This interconnected technology stack will require this position to partner closely with a range of stakeholders, including staff from Development, Communications, the Project Management Office, IT, and consultants.

The Salesforce Administrator, Fundraising Systems is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule. This position prefers hybrid in San Francisco, CA, open to remote in the contiguous US (including states we have offices in).

What You’ll Do

System Stewardship & Governance (45%)

  • Manage permissions and security, sandbox and release discipline, data model integrity, and change control across a Agentforce for Nonprofit (Nonprofit Cloud) organization supporting 100+ users. Conduct routine data hygiene, quality audits, and monitoring so users can trust what they see. Build and maintain lightweight automation - Flows, validation rules, page layouts, reports, and AI agents
    • favoring system-native approaches and long-term sustainability over one-off customization.
  • Collaborate closely with data and system owners across various teams to ensure consistent, accurate, and well-integrated data practices.

User Enablement & Adoption (25%)

  • Design and deliver training, office hours, and documentation that meet users where they are, across a range of Salesforce sophistication and experience.
  • Convert repeated support questions into UX improvements, guides, or system changes.
  • Grow a self-service reporting culture by coaching users to build and trust reports and dashboards for their own work, and directing them to Tableau information resources designed by the Evaluations team.

Reporting, Analytics & Build Support (20%)

  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards that give staff and leadership reliable visibility into pipeline, activity, and results, and support ad hoc analytics needs.
  • Scope, prioritize, review, and safely inherit build work as the organization transitions from implementation to internal ownership.
  • Address technical debt and enable future innovation with careful attention to stakeholder needs and aspirations, assessing and implementing third-party solutions, helping maintain and monitor the integrations that connect the CRM to the broader ecosystem.

Business Process Documentation & Enablement (10%) Translate fundraiser and operations needs into clear requirements - user stories, tradeoffs, and acceptance criteria

    • grounded in fundraising practice, not just tooling.
  • Document how work happens across major and planned-giving moves management, direct marketing and segmentation, foundation relations, and prospect development, and keep that documentation current as processes evolve.
  • Steward the constituency data model (households, giving credit, donor stages, gift summaries) in partnership with Development leadership.

Ongoing Learning

Actively pursue professional development and contribute to a culture of learning by building skills and sharing knowledge.

Please note that the percentage breakdowns provided above serve as a guideline and that other duties may be assigned as part of the job’s requirements., * Solid Salesforce administrator fundamentals: permissions, data model, Flows, page layouts, agents, reports and dashboards, and sandbox/release management. Salesforce Administrator certification preferred.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Salesforce experience, including 3+ years administering and supporting a Salesforce organization with 100+ users in a complex, multi-team environment.
  • Demonstrated approach to change and release management: sandboxes, testing, documentation, and staged rollouts.
  • Ability to translate business needs into system changes: requirements gathering, user story framing, and honest tradeoff conversations with stakeholders. Creating clear documentation: process maps, admin runbooks, user guides, and training materials.
  • Nonprofit or fundraising CRM experience preferred, especially with complex data models such as households, giving credit, and moves management.
  • Experience partnering with implementation consultants or vendors: reviewing configuration, safely inheriting builds, and maintaining healthy governance.
  • Sound judgement: knows when to automate, when to wait, and how to prevent technical debt and future-proof our ecosystem.
  • Accelerators preferred: Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud experience, ALM tooling, marketing automation exposure, Data Cloud (Data 360), data warehouse integrations, or experience transitioning an organization from consultant to internal ownership.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach: able to facilitate discussions, surface tradeoffs, navigate disagreement constructively, and build alignment among stakeholders with competing needs and priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice’s values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership.
