Job description

The MRS II is responsible for delivering exceptional service to members by assisting with their financial needs, promoting credit union products and services, and ensuring member satisfaction. This role involves processing transactions, opening accounts, providing information on loan products and the ability to input applications and disburse loans. The MRS II also helps members manage their accounts, resolve any issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. As a Float MRS II, the ability to travel to all branches within our Branch Network on a daily basis as needed and work well in team environments., + Adheres the FHCU Service Standards as established.

  • Conducts basic and complex transactions in a professional, courteous manner, including but not limited to: deposits, transfers, withdrawals, payments, wire transfer paperwork, stop payments, payroll set up, opening/closing accounts, and all other financial and non-financial transactions for members.

  • Engages members in dialogue to obtain information regarding their financial needs and recommends the appropriate product or service based on those needs.

  • Meets established individual and group sales goals by using various sales techniques.

  • Responds to member inquiries regarding the operation of accounts, access to services, and assists members in making the most effective usage of service offerings.

  • Performs duties with limited supervision and resolves issues within the scope of authority assigned.

  • Executes loan applications and disbursements.

  • Makes outbound calls to members regarding outstanding loan approvals, various credit union products and services.

  • Attends offsite events to increase membership within our Select Employer Groups.

  • Participates in available credit union self-development education programs and required compliance courses through self-study and the credit union’s training department.

  • Represents the credit union at various community events and assists the manager with business development duties when necessary.

  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associate’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service

  • Minimum of one (1) year of cash handling

  • At least 6 months experience working as a teller/MRS I or related position in a financial institution, preferred

  • Prior sales experience, preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of general banking regulations and credit union policies and procedures

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and using the Internet

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise judgement

  • Basic knowledge of sales techniques

  • Available to travel to other branches when required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial services with a strong background in lending, sales, and member service

  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending, regulatory requirements and loan processing

  • Proven ability to drive sales while maintaining exceptional member service standards and operational efficiencies

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities to address member concerns and opprational challenges effectively

  • Knowledge of credit union products, services and compliance regulations

  • DNA core system experience is a plus but not required

Salary: The base pay for this position is $21/hr. A $.50 premium may be added if the applicant is able to demonstrate a proficiency in both English & Spanish (oral & written).

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands require a person to be able to stand for a period of up to eight (8) hours per day and lift items estimated in weight of 5-10lbs or more and perform repetitive hand movements on a keyboard.
