Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable GIS and commerce focused services using core and advanced Java to ensure high performance and maintainable solutions that support critical business workloads and end user experiences.
  • Implement and optimize cloud native applications on major cloud platforms using best practices in compute storage and networking to deliver reliable and cost efficient environments for GIS and commerce services.
  • Apply DevOps practices across the software lifecycle including build deployment and configuration automation to improve release speed quality and consistency for GIS applications.
  • Drive SRE methodologies by defining service level indicators and objectives to continuously improve availability reliability and performance of key GIS and commerce services.
  • Configure and maintain AWS DevOps tooling including pipelines artifact management and environment automation to support repeatable and secure deployments in hybrid work settings.
  • Set up and refine monitoring strategies using Splunk and dynatrace to create meaningful dashboards alerts and reports that help teams quickly detect and resolve issues in production systems.
  • Use Kafka to design and maintain event driven integrations for GIS data flows ensuring reliable message processing and resilient communication across distributed commerce platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams such as product engineering operations and security to translate business needs into technical designs that align with organizational goals and societal impact.
  • Perform root cause analysis for incidents using observability data and logs from Splunk dynatrace and other tools to reduce recurrence and improve long term stability of GIS solutions.
  • Optimize application and infrastructure configurations with a focus on resource utilization latency and throughput to create efficient systems that support sustainable technology practices.
  • Document system designs runbooks and operational procedures in a clear and structured manner to enable knowledge sharing smooth onboarding and consistent support across global teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to peers on Java engineering cloud adoption DevOps automation and observability patterns to elevate team capabilities and improve project outcomes.
  • Participate in code reviews testing activities and continuous improvement efforts to uphold coding standards security practices and reliability across all GIS and commerce services.
